Rhododendron austrinum (florida flame azalea) - A large, deciduous, native shrub to 9 feet tall with orange to yellow, funnelform flowers.  Hardy in zones 6 - 9.

Rhododendron canescens (florida pinxter) - A slender, native, deciduous shrub to 15 feet tall with funnelform, pink flowers that sometimes have white lobes.  Hardy in zones 7 - 10.

amagasa (umbrella) - A Satsuki hybrid with 3 to 4 inch wide, vivid red flowers having darker spots on the upper lobe.  The flowers have wide, overlapping lobes.  Zones 7 - 9.

china seas - A Pericat hybrid with 2 inch wide, semi-double, pink flowers having partially petaloid sepals.  Zones 7 - 9.

christmas cheer [ima shojo]- A Kurume hyrbird of dense, upright growth to 7 feet with strong red, hose-in-hose flowers up to 1 inch wide.

conversation piece - A Robin Hill hybrid with wavy, 3 inch wide, highly variable flowers.  Some flowers are solid white, some are solid purplish pink but most are a mixture of the two colors.  These mixed flowers may be either spotted or segmented.  Blooms both in the spring and again in the fall.  Zones 6 - 9.

coral bells [daybreak - kirin] - A Kurume hybrid of low, spreading habit with 1 inch wide, strong pink, hose-in-hose flowers.

criterion - A Southern Indian hybrid of low, dense habit from 6 to 8 feet tall and wide with 2 inch wide, vivid purplish red flowers having a white edge and darker blotch.

delaware valley white - A Mucronatum hybrid with 2 inch wide, white flowers.  Hardy to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

elegans superba (pride of mobile) - A Southern Indian hybrid of tall, upright habit with 2 inch wide, strong pink flowers having a darker blotch.  Blooms in midseason.

fashion - A Glenn Dale hybrid of erect to arching habit to 6 feet tall with 2 inch wide, hose-in-hose, deep yellowish pink flowers having a purplish red blotch.

fisher pink - A Southern Indian hybrid with light pink flowers.  Blooms midseason.

formosa - A Southern Indian hybrid of tall, upright habit with 3 inch wide, deep purplish red flowers having a darker blotch.  Blooms midseason.  Zones 8 - 10.

george lindsey taber - A Southern Indian hybrid of medium height with 3 inch wide, white flowers flushed with light to strong purplish pink and having a darker blotch.  Blooms midseason.  Zones 8 - 10.

girard's rose - A Girard hybrid with deep pink flowers to 2 inches wide having a deep yellowish pink reverse.  The leaves turn reddish orange in the winter.

gumbo - A Satsuki hybrid of low growing habit with 3 inch wide, white flowers having some small flecks of purplish pink and a light green blotch.  A popular landscape plant with overlapping and ruffled lobes.  Zones 7 - 10.

hampton beauty - A Pericat hybrid of dense, spreading habit to medium height with 2 inch wide, deep pink flowers having a darker blotch.  The sepals are partially petaloid.  Blooms early midseason.  Zones 7 - 9.

hardy gardenia - A Linwood hybrid with double, white, hose-in-hose flowers up to 2 inches wide.  This cultivar blooms both spring and fall and is hardy to 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

hino crimson - A Kurume hybrid up to 2 feet with strong red flowers up to 1 inches across.  Zones 7 - 9.

sunglow - A Carla hybrid of rounded, upright habit to 5 feet with 2 to 3 inch wide, strong purplish red flowers.  The leaves turn reddish in the winter.  Hardy to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
